At The Pointy End · Effective 11 July 2026

At The Pointy End ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Matt Stevenson as a sole trader (ABN 33 164 250 137). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit atthepointyend.com (the "Site"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and we aim to respect the privacy rights of visitors from other regions (including the EU/UK GDPR).

This document is general information, not legal advice.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you give us — e.g. if you email us or subscribe to updates, we collect your email address and anything you include.
    • Usage and device data — collected automatically via analytics and server logs: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, browser and device type.
    • Cookies and tracking — we and our partners use cookies for analytics and affiliate tracking. See section 4.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

2. How we use your information

To operate and improve the Site, respond to your enquiries, send updates you have requested, measure traffic and content performance, attribute affiliate referrals, and comply with our legal obligations.

3. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers (analytics, hosting, email), affiliate networks and partners (who set their own cookies under their own privacy policies), and where required by law. Some providers may be located overseas, so your information may be processed outside Australia.

4. Cookies and affiliate tracking

Cookies help the Site function, measure usage, and record that a booking originated from one of our links so we can earn a commission. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as well if you do.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To make a request, contact [email protected]. You can opt out of email updates at any time using the unsubscribe link.

6. Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed or as required by law, and take reasonable steps to protect it. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

The Site links to third-party websites (including affiliate partners). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please review their policies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date above shows when it was last revised.

9. Contact

Questions or privacy requests: [email protected]. If you are in Australia and not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
