Qantas and Air New Zealand will terminate their codeshare agreement effective April 7, 2027\. The two carriers have operated under this arrangement for years, allowing each to sell seats on the other's flights across the Tasman and beyond.

### What it means for you

Australian business travellers will lose the ability to book Air New Zealand flights under Qantas flight numbers and vice versa from April next year. This may affect frequent flyer earning and redemption on trans-Tasman routes, and could complicate multi-airline itineraries. You'll need to book Air New Zealand separately or check whether alternative codeshare partners emerge. Qantas Frequent Flyer members should review any upcoming bookings that rely on this arrangement.
